So far this morning, I have...
Listened to Little Lad yelp while trying to put on a sock (painful wart -- any suggestions? Does the duct-tape method work? I might give him some homeopathic Sulphur, as its "symptom picture" sounds about right).
Listened to Papa vent (and vented back at him) about the inanity of the songs Little Lad is learning for his upcoming school concert (surely it's possible to avoid exclusionary religiosity without resorting to songs with "ka-CHING!" in them?). If only we were the dottycookie family...
Listened to Big Lad demonstrate how he worked out how to play another one of his favorite Blink-182 songs on the piano.
Enjoyed a bit of an internet browse with Papa, trying to find the particular Italian-made vetiver shaving cream that he adores (this is worth abruptly stopping all other activities to do, because Papa S. is a man who typically asks for nothing and requires no fancy gifts or accoutrements ever. I'm so excited, I think I might be moved to get the shower gel, shampoo and deodorant as well. Toothpaste? Do they make toothpaste?).
Directed Papa to crafting possibilities at Pinterest, because he has a church kids' activity tomorrow and Easy Bird Feeders seemed just the thing (especially the ones made from old toilet paper rolls).
Listened to Big Lad singing old-school sadistically catchy pop songs (namely, "My Sharona") as I tried to write this blog post.
Uttered testy words about the aforementioned. Which Big Lad received good-naturedly, as is his custom.
Concluded that two shots of espresso might be a wee bit more than I really need.
(Remember the National Geographic program I mentioned yesterday? I recommend watching it, or at least watching the final installment, if you need a reminder to cherish this precious and fleeting life we all have. But if you get too sad, there's always this one.)

You can tell Big Lad thanks very much for getting My Sharona now running through my head too. Oh, and if I ever track down the recording of my lot singing yesterday I'll forward it. There may be some old samples at kingsjuniorvoices.org
You don't want to be us. We balanced all our ethereal gorgeousness with a visit to Build a Bear Workshop today ...
My RSS feed says you posted that at 11:11! There must be some mystical meaning behind that. I'm at a loss as to what that could be.
I'm not going anywhere near anything that has the word "sad" attached to it. I had nightmares from watching "Incendies" last night as it was!
Now I have to go and listen to more Christmas music to get the "My Sharona.....da,da,da,da, da,da,da,da,....My Sharona" outta my head....aaaahhhcccckkk.
(...as she leaves the computer with her fingers in her ears muttering "la-la-la-la".)
I was thinking of trying to find 'My Sharona' so that I could listed to it, never having heard of it, but after reading that it might be an ear worm I think I shall not bother. I have just Googled 'Incendies' as I have never heard of that either and I came to the conclusion that I might just do something to celebrate Christmas this year!
I hope you manage to find something to soothe the wart.
I meant, of course listen, not listed.
Haha, WV is mindcrub, I think I must have that.
Big Lad and I share a love of 'M M My Sharona'. I love that angsty nineties film with Banana Ryder and that song in it.
My nose has been to the grindstone in pliers land. For Far Too Long. I am emerging. My fingers are calloused but it feels good. I have missed you. I'm sorry to have been away xxx
Love My Sharona, I approve!
Hope you managed to sort out Papa's gifts.
