Yesterday we spent our last day together before Little Lad's return to school.
There was a bit of thrift-shop browsing...
And some thank-you note-writing.
And now here I sit, coffee in hand, reflecting on what a wonderful holiday it was.
At our house, the year is off to a very good start. Hope it is for you, too.
P.S. Go here to learn how to make those paper lanterns.
P.P.S. My exemplary Significant Other is cleaning out the basement as we speak. Cue angel chorus!

Happy new year Lynn. I do hope your plans to visit GB come to fruition.
A Man who purges - could there be anything finer? I've been waiting for years for mine to tackle the garage. Back to school for us too, tomorrow.
Aww, thank you letters, how sweet!
What Sue said.
PS, love the gloves.
hope little lads first day back was great. I think you could probably hire out your basement cleaner across the globe!
Oooh thanks for sharing the lantern tutorial link. I have a little girl here who will LOVE making some of those. Hope little lad eases back into school life well (and you too!). Still enjoying my holiday from work here, although back to it next Monday.
I keep reminding my big lad (ever so gently) to email your big lad. One of these days he will get to it!!

How great to have a great holiday. Mine went back to school yesterday and today and I miss them. Boo hoo.
Best thank you note ever! I hope 2012 is very peaceful for you, Lynn. xx
Wishing you the loveliest of years this year.

Extravaganza! What a great word.
The best of New Years and Saturdays to you Lynn.
Thanks so much for the lantern link.
What fine examples of knitting! I am inspired to finish a pair of 4-year old mittens I've been struggling with for the past month. I hope you've been enjoying the outdoors lately. I know we are. I saw some birds with nesting materials in their beaks. Is that normal for this time of year? Or are the birds confused with the mild weather too?
By 4-year old mittens I mean the size is for a 4-year old. Although, it would be more like me if it was the other way around.
Hey...I recognize that Thank You note!! :)
We saw those balloons & immediately thought of him!!!
Lovely photos, Lynn! I had lost your email with the blog address and have only re-found it after much searching.
