Bittersweet

Yesterday we spent our last day together before Little Lad's return to school.

There was a bit of thrift-shop browsing...

And some thank-you note-writing.

And now here I sit, coffee in hand, reflecting on what a wonderful holiday it was.

At our house, the year is off to a very good start.  Hope it is for you, too.

P.S.  Go here to learn how to make those paper lanterns.

P.P.S.  My exemplary Significant Other is cleaning out the basement as we speak.  Cue angel chorus!

A Man who purges - could there be anything finer? I've been waiting for years for mine to tackle the garage. Back to school for us too, tomorrow.

Oooh thanks for sharing the lantern tutorial link. I have a little girl here who will LOVE making some of those. Hope little lad eases back into school life well (and you too!). Still enjoying my holiday from work here, although back to it next Monday.
I keep reminding my big lad (ever so gently) to email your big lad. One of these days he will get to it!!

What fine examples of knitting! I am inspired to finish a pair of 4-year old mittens I've been struggling with for the past month. I hope you've been enjoying the outdoors lately. I know we are. I saw some birds with nesting materials in their beaks. Is that normal for this time of year? Or are the birds confused with the mild weather too?

By 4-year old mittens I mean the size is for a 4-year old. Although, it would be more like me if it was the other way around.
